The crank looks like a mirror image of the driveshaft.

This apparentely is the result of an absents of grease on the splines at the time of manufacturing. The splines in the steel crank rusted away until the shaft slipped. Guess I'll restore the old girl. . .(and the motor too)

Stiff chop, but no ice! Here in Ketchikan our weather is very similar to Seattle. Lots of rain, not much cold weather. Lets me keep the boat in almost year round. I pull it a couple times a year for a cleaning and maintenance, then back in the slip for camping, hunting, fishing. When you live on an island it's one of your only escapes.
