Hi all,
I have a 2006 Sundance B20 Skiff. it is pretty light for a 20 footer, weighs about 2500lbs. I want to get back into bass fishing and need a trolling motor. In my searches, it suggests a 24volt motor to pull this size boat around. I have two opportunities to purchase a used trolling motor. The first is a MinnKota RT65 with auto pilot for 350. The second is a MinnKota bow mount hand trust with 55lb of thrust for 175. Both are in great condition. My issue is I have two batteries on a switch for starting and all electronics (live well, radio, fishfinder/gps, washdown, etc...). I would prefer the 12volt motor with the hand control, but concerned that it will not meet my needs. I'm relocating to Georgia, so this will be used in lakes. If I go with the 24volt system then I need two additional batteries. I have no idea where to mount these. Curious what some of you have done with your setup. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
