trolling motor bracket cover?

i have a fishing pontoon and i want to put a trolling motor on it but im worried the bracket will get in the way

how do you guys deal with that metal plate in the floor when your not fishing / is there any way to cover it?

my family is bugging me that they will stub there toe on it

They really aren't that bad, you would probably have to sand the edges down a bit but mine on my Motorguide is only about 1/4 or so tall, if you rounded the edges down it shouldn't be a probelm and people will learn it is there and avoid it, it is after all a fishing pontoon.

Better yet just leave the troller on, any kind of cover you will have to invent, I have never seen one.

I bought a " Pontoon Minn Kota " it's 54 lbs. and it comes with a removable bracket, the bottom plates stays on, but I find that I leave the troller on the boat and its has a spot for a padlock. I suppose you could run the bolts through the deck then unbolt the whole thing, but that would be a pain.

thanks guys what i was thinking of doing is putting Velcro strips on a piece of carpet and covering the bracket when not in use
