Gentlemen,

I have a new Minn Kota Edge mounted on the bow of my 17' aluminum flat. I also have the Minn Kota battery box with built in circuit breaker. The boat is an 87' had has cable run on the port side from the batteries by the transom up to the bow. I would like to keep my trolling motor battery back by the transom. My issue is the cable that is run is basically battery cable with big battery cable connections on each end. Don't know if its 2 or 4 gauge. My trolling motor has much smaller wire with much smaller connections. Any opinions on plugs or connection possibilities?

Thanks in advance,

Maury

Crimp ring terminals on both, bolt together, insulate.

DON'T use the same gauge wire that is on your trolling motor to run to your battery. You need the larger gauge because if you run that smaller gauge to the battery it will probably get hot trying to pass the amount of current for that distance. Like the above post stated, crimp and/or solder ring terminals on both gauges of wires and connect together and seal with shrink tube for a complate connection...
