Hey everyone,

Im trying to mount a trolling motor onto the bow of my Boston Whaler Sport (13'). However, instead of having a flat surface from the casting deck to the water, there is a "lip",or edge of the boat, in between. Can I mount the motor onto the casting deck, or will the motor not deploy because of the lip? Can I mount directly onto the "lip"? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

PS Sorry the picture is not great, but you can see at the bow how the casting deck meets the edge of the boat. ALSO MY BOAT DOES NOT HAVE A RAIL AS PICTURED.

Re: Trolling Motor Help Please!

weeeell. Cuz I don't know what your motor is, it's hard to say. HOWEVER, if the motor interferes with the gunwale (coaming) above the deck, I would suggest using wood to make a spacer so the motor's mounting location is flush with the gunwale. Does B-whaler have suggestions or accesories for a bow mount on this model?

Either way it shouldn't be hard to do.
