I use my trolling motors only for duck hunting and I recently updraged two years ago to a Minn Kota 55 lb salt water model. I have used it in salt water once right when I got it and it was scraping on the lower unit so I sent it to a mechanic and he replaced the seals and said it should be fine. I have used it maybe 15 times and I just brought it out yesterday to take out on a creek but it would just make a faint clicking sound when turned on, but I later got it to spin just fine and it wasn't making much noise at all. I took it apart yesterday and my worst nightmare came true, check out these picks and if anyone has any advice on how to fix this situation or get quality mechanic work please share. I have been told I can clean it with electric motor cleaner and it should be fine? Thanks, Tyler

Re: Trolling Motor help!

you can try cleaning it, but start budgeting for a new one.
