Trolling motor or kicker motor?

I have a 19ft SeaPro center console. I would like to install either a Trolling motor or a kicker motor. The bow rail is fairly high, so I think a bow mounted trolling motor is out of the question. I'm unsure if there is room on the transom for a trolling motor either. Any suggestion as to which is a better way to go?

with trollmo,, front is better but in your case ,, just mountin' it ANYwhere is good.. <br /><br />say if'n you put it up front,, where would you put the battery..?? back mite be better.. <br /><br />for a kicker,, there're mounin' brackets for the transom for that..

Thanks Crab Bait. Is there a trolling motor mount that can be attached to the back of the boat? The standard transom mount will not work here.<br /><br />Man I'm sick of winter!!!!!

This Drop-down works great. Get the slide in mount. plate mounts to boat, that way you can take the drop-down part off when not useing The Kicker motor. You need about a 9.9 hp.for a boat that size. make sure you get the right shaft lenth for your kicker. measure after you mount the drop-down. Then LOOK for a Motor. standard motors are 15in shaft. you might need a 20in. Measure from the top vin ( above Prop ) to the bottom of the moter. thats where you will find 15in. or 20in. Get the right one. Motors aren't cheep. Check E-bay for Prices on outboards.

Witt<br />To answer your question I need a lot more info. What will you use this motor for, Bass fishing, or Trolling.<br />Black bass fishing a bow mounted trolling motor is the way to go, can get very long shaft today and foot control or remote control.<br /><br />For trolling or for a saftey motor to get you back in go with the kicker 15 HP.
