Hey, can I use a regular extension cord for my trolling motor plug? I'm going to get another trolling motor and would like to be able to take it off without cutting the wires and soldering them everytime. Its a bow mount and I'm too much of a cheap a$$ to buy the real trolling motor plugs.....I guess I could use the 110 or 220 volt plugs if it'll work....Whatcha think??????

You could, but for the little price of the quick disconnect of the proper plugs, I believe it's worth the cost.

web page

You need to make sure wire size is correct if you do the extension cord.My motor calls for 6 guage wire but i beleive it is 8 guage wire from the factory and it does fine.
