Hello all

Does anyone know you makes a good Trolling motor plug(Male) that goes in the floor of the boat? I bought a cheap Attwood brand at Wallyworld and it has corroded to the point that one prong broke off. I was hoping that someone made a Waterproof plug, so that when you closed it, it would seal up.(Maybe with a gasket or something). Everytime I wash the boat down, the plug fills with water the problem starts over again. This one only lasted 4 Months. It seems like someone would make one with a rubber seal on it. Any ideas??? Thanks,

Re: Trolling Motor Plug

Yeah, I'm gonna try the dielectric grease. JB had an idea before that I may try as well. He suggested getting a spare female plug, cut the wires off and stick that in there with grease when not in use. That sounds good, but may look weird. I've also thought about crab bait's idea, but there sure isn't much room to drill the hole. That was one of my first thoughts. Thanks for the input guys. Guess I'll just keep on replacing them. Might try to make myself some type of quick disconnect, so I don't have to re-wire it every time it junks out on me. I can't beleive that someone does not make one with a rubber gasket on it to keep the water out. Maybe an invention is in the works here...

Hey guys, think (Hope) I solved the problem. Found a Waterproof one on Cabelas. Looks like it's just what I was after. Has a waterproof cap the seals it up when not in use. Hope it works!!!

Mar-Lan Trolling Motor Receptacle and Plug
Mar-Lan trolling motor plug and receptacles fit two or three-wire configurations. Locking plug eliminates loose connections. Works with 12-, 24-, 12-/24-, 24-/36- or 36-volt systems. Watertight sealing cap protects the receptacle when not in use. Accepts up to 8-gauge wire.
