Hey guys...I've got a Minn Kota trolling motor with 35lbs thrust to it. Works fine, but, I was wondering if it's possible to get a little better performance out of it with a new prop. Do they make aluminum or stainless steel props for small electric motors?? Will they even do anything for me as far as thrust or speed goes??

Re: Trolling Motor Prop Question

I bought a kipawa 3 blade for my MK. It made a noticable diff in power and it's easier to hold the boat position in the wind. Got an increase of 1mph - went from 2.5 to 3.5mph. This is a 65Lb thrust on a heavy 18' aluminum.

Re: Trolling Motor Prop Question

They do make aluminum props for minn kota motors but they're hard to find. They are supposed to increase performance although I've never tried one. I know this guy sells them:

Give Gene a call and he'll ship you one if you're interested.

Re: Trolling Motor Prop Question

I wasn't aware they made AL props for minn kotas. A quick google search turned up a few on ebay and some other places. Good to know:)
