Have a 2003 8 HP Yammy 4 stroke on my 17.5 Smokercraft that I use for trolling. The prop is a liitle beat up and I'm going to replace it. It's a 8-1/2" x 7-1/2" pitch curently. Not sure what wot RPM's are but will check that next time I"m out.
Question I have is would you still try to hit that 5-6K rpm range on a 8 horse pushing a 2000+ pound boat? The current prop does ok for it's intended use
but I just wonder if you'd ever hit that rpm at WOT.
Thanks

Smallest pitch listed here is 7" sizes run 7,7 1/2, 8, 9.
Baring excessive slip my guess is you won't make rpm on that setup.

I guess that's what I'm looking for confirmation on. That was my thought as well but I'd rather put those kind of hours on the 8 then the 115.
