can you extend a 50 inch motorguide shaft 1 need it about 8 inches longer

I was wondering the same thing i did a few searches and could not find much information on it im curious to see what the pros say

You would pay more for the welding and machine work than just replacing the shaft with a new 60 incher from MotorGuide parts dept. Stainless steel is not cheap and welding it properly requires talent.

Of course, you would have to splice the wires going to the motor to make them longer.
