I have a 16' v hull and I have decided on a Minn kota with ipilot, Would it be worth it to get the more thrust 24 volt or just stick with 55# 12 volt? I was thinking the terrova model.....any experience would be appreciated.....and most of my trolling would be long days long lining or downrigging

55# will do ok as long as there is not alot of wind. I had an 82Lb thrust motorguide on a similar boat and it was great!!

Your going to use the electric TM to fish that way,all day?(7-8hrs?)
Is the boat, the one in your picture?
I'd be looking at a small gas outboard before electric,if it's a possiblity.
If not and you don't mind 2 batteries(cost, charge, space for them, weight etc),I think a 24V system would fit your needs better.IMO

It will b mounted on the boat in the picture...I have a 12v. 55 lb Endura I used on the bow now that I converted from transom and it seemed to run pretty good for 4 hrs on one battery @ 1.4 mph on 4 speed setting so I think the electric could work well if set up properly...call me picky but I like the quiet out on the lake, and I don't think my transom has wood on the sides for a kicker mount...thanks again for the info
