trolling motors,what can they do?

I want a trolling motor for a 14 to 16 ft aluminum v bottom that can deal with one to two foot waves and will last six to 8 hours on a battery.any such animal out there?I want it mainly for salt marsh and a poke into the bay now and then when the winds not too bad.<br />Al

It can be done. You'll probably want to go to 24 volt. At least 50 pound thrust.<br /><br />My favorites are Minn Kota. If you buy the higher lines, they will have battery saving technology built in.

thanks,<br />a friend at work had told me to check out the minn kota website and i did and read about the battery saving technology but didn"t know if it was sales hype or the motors were really that good.<br />I go a lot of places where gasoline motors are not aloud,national wildlife refuges and such and I am also a mechanical klutz and i forever see people fighting with engines that won"t run.thats why I"ve always stuck with muscle powered craft but I just recently had an episode in foul wether with the wife and about got dumped next to a shark and realized i may need a bigger boat for certain conditions.I figure it"s time for a v bottom with an electric that can muscle the chop.<br />AL
