Hi guys,

In the midst of picking a new prop and have one in mind (a 4 blade) but I am curious about one thing. My boat has a 3 blade prop right now and I will be doing alot of motor trolling (for northern pike, walleye. etc) and I wanted to know if going to a 4 blade prop is going to significant;y increase my trolling speed at a given idle rpm.....:)

Looking at it logicly if its the same pitch it should be the same speed.Though
being 4 blade it may have slightly less slip thus a minor increase in trolling speed.
Have you discussed your prop change and whet your trying to solve with the guys here on the prop forum. There is a lot of knowledge here.

I did...HWSiii gave me some great info.! I never got an answer about trolling speed though. If it is negligable I will get the prop that was recommended but if I am going to gain 1mph than I will have to think about it....:D

BTW, the people in this forum are great...there's an awful lot of knowledge and I appreciate it!

I sure can't tell you that you won't get a change But at 750 rpm same pitch
I don't see a mile per hour because of slip improvement.
But again any prop change can be a surprise.
