I have a 100 hp 1987 Johnson engine MODEL SJ100WTPLB SERIAL R 7490670. Im having bad times trying to buy parts. It doesn't show in the dealers computer. Where can I buy a parts manual for this engine? I need to buy a clutch dog, stator and a voltage rectifier. I just want to be sure that what I buy fits on my engine since electrical parts dont have refund.<br /><br />Thanks

Re: Troubble finding parts

is that a factory tag, or is it a "re-titled for the state" tag ?<br />if you take some of your letters away you have <br />J100WTL and if you are shure its an 87 you have <br />-------J100WTLCU<br />that mite get you a little closer to atleast verify a part #.<br />-<br />i went threw the same thing. i bought a 1992 johnson 120TX <it was titled just like that>. <br />-i had the same trouble you are having. after a couple of months of part searching <with the help of this forum> <br />-i also bought parts books off of ebay from 1994 to 1987 to pin point the exact year.<br />-it turned out to be a 1988 EVINRUDE 140TXCCM dressed in johnson 120 trim. <br />-<br />see if you cant find some part #s - flywheel, head, or starter to give someone <like clanton who has access to alot of part#s> something to start with.<br /><br />-<br />just trying to help

I went thru same problem, thought I had a 120 turned out to be a 140 eninrude, There was a small plug on the back of the motor, between clylinder heads, looks like a frezze plug. This has model and serial numbers on it.

Hi Bouner,<br /> The typical U.S.-sold OMC from 1980 onwards has a model year number based on the word INTRODUCES where I=1, N=2, T=3, etc. I'm wondering if because you're in primarily Spanish-Speaking Puerto Rico, if maybe OMC uses a different code word there? I'm not sure - just taking a wild guess, as your model number doesn't fall into the pattern I'm familiar with.<br />- Scott

Re: Troubble finding parts

The latest it can be is a 1987, the 88 only had one power pack. I say it is a 1987, with 9 amp stator, water cooled regulator/rectifer. I still cant find a parts book with that model number, Like I said above the model number is in the 1988 model/year guide and calls it a 1987. If you have a local dealer, ask him to look at mirco card 87E and if he has a stator in stock, compare it with your stator.

Re: Troubble finding parts

The parts list shows for 1997 a SJ100WTPLZ model or for '96, a SJ100WTPLM. It is a V4 "workhorse" or commercial motor of the older crossflow design. There is no listing of a "B" suffix on those model numbers.
