After a three week wait, my "parts express" Mercury dealer informed me today that my part is no longer available. I managed to break one end of the shift linkage rod, and unfortunately it's the unthreaded, seemingly permanently mounted end. The dealer sold me a threaded end, and told me to somehow remove the broken end from the rod, and thread that end of the rod so it accepts the new piece he sold me.<br /> Although it sounds plausible, I'd still like to find the part somewhere if possible. I'd rather not monkey around with the piece I have until I've exhausted other possibilities.<br /> The engine is a 1986 25hpXD. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
