I hope this is the right forum for this..
I have a 93 115 hp johnson..

but i took my boat out about 1-2months ago and it ran fine so the boat should work...

but im planning on taking this boat out this weekend, and ive tried starting it out of water (with earmuffs on) and the battery is a little weak, but the engine is turning so I dont think its a battery problem...

is it just natural that it might take it a while for it turn on? and should i just keep trying to turn it and give it some choke to start it out of water or should i just take it to the lake and get it started out on the lake?

also any tips on getting the engine started... I dont want to spend money on gas to take it out to the lake and not be able to get the boat started.

do I need to change the spark plugs?? or what?

also last tie i took it out (first time taking this boat out) i thought the boat could hold 18 gallons so i put 3pints of oil in it and could only fill it up to 12 (the 2 looked like an 8 to me i guess) so maybe its harder to start because its running with too much oil?

Re: trouble starting boat.

Whats your starting procedure? Also what is the model number of the motor and did anything happen when you last had it running? There is a lot of missing info that if you give us, it will help us help you. A lot of people here to help. This might be a topic for the outboard part of this forum. Well see what a MOD says.
