trouble with 18 h.p. points

on my 18 h.p. evinrude 1972 there is a s.s. sleeve with a key slot that my points ride on to open and close... there is a crack in it so it has to be replaced... what is this sleeve called? and where could i find a replacement?...thanks in advance...

I believe it is called a magneto cam sleeve.

The microfiche for your motor shows a part number of 316583, however it is not in the current parts catalog, you might try SEAWAY.

Take a close look at the flywheel hub and make sure it's not cracked or spread as well. That part cracked for a reason.
