Dear all,
I have recently changed the lower unit on my 1992 90HP force, and could not correctly adjust gear/throttle cables. The problem is when the boat is running in full throttle, it is impossible to pull it back to neutral. After killing the engine and shaking & twisting the cables I manage to click it back. Could you please advise how to adjust these two cables (they move in opposite directions, I am a little confused and don’t want to mess the setup completely). Also is there way and reason to grease those cables? Thanks a lot for you help,
Ivan

Did the problem first show up after you had the lower unit off?
Disconnect the cables from the motor and see if they are smooth and free. If not then get replacement cables. Trying to resurrect corroded cables is a bad idea from a safety standpoint.
Your control box may also be the culprit. You'll know when you have the cables off.
