is there an easy way to run my outboard at home....i'm new to this but its quite troublesome to run it down to the lake every time i want to test it out....or does everyone bring their tools onboard with them ?

Get an engine flusher(ear muffs), They connect to a hose, and go over the water intake vents, or get a barrel/bin fill it with water and place in under your engine. make sure the lower unit sits at least over the intake vents.

Problem with running on muffs is you need a load to test it right. best way for a load is on the water.Unless it is a small motor a barrel wont let you run much power. There are test props for tank testing but seems like a lot of unecessary <br /> expense to me.By all means use the muffs to be sure it will start and idle but they dont give a true indication of how it will act on the water.
