Went on the annual fall trout weekend. Crazy weather, rain sun sleet sun rain hail sun rain, great food, a few adult beverages, lots of cribbage and a few of these.

We stream fish, but where we stay, a friends site camper, is on a nice river and there are many others up there to try and haul in salmon and steelhead. I really enjoy walking around a looking at the river boats. There are well over 20 boats being put to use at this time of year.

Some are real nice, others are floating crap, but they all get used hard.

And a nice anchor set up.

This is my favorite, a RiverMaster, made in Wellston, MI back in the early 90's. The new owner added an bulky all alum transom riser and a very thick support plate to hold his new 90 4 stroke jet in place.

There were many more, some under cover and many always out on the river. Most are up and out by 5 or 6 trying to hit their favorite hole before someone steals it.

Some nice fish and good eatin' for sure.

I think the first one is a Texas Maid. The give-aways are the bow portholes and the distinctive chine/lower bow treatment.

The RiverMaster looks like a go anywhere boat.

I saw so many it was hard to remember, Texas Maid sounds right, the plate was still on the wood dash.

The Rivermaster has a 1/8" thick hull.

Nice trout. Brings back memories of fishing with my dad on some streams where we would bow hunt. Mmm, tasty brookies!

jd - no Brookies on this trip, still looking for the that big beaver dam. The last one we fished was blown out.

Jas - Dinner was fantastic, still can't get my kids to eat it, just means more for the Admiral and me.

Looks like a good trip Osby. Those river type rigs are intriguing to me, especially after moving down here.

Always a good trip.

Looks like you have a good excuse to pick up another hole in the water.

Problem is, I've already got the sailing bug ... and limited garage space. But bangin' down the Duck river on one of those tin sleds would be a blast!

Gotta love Michigan, best fishing in the country! Steelhead, Salmon, Muskie, Smallies, Northern and Sturgeon. Just to name a few.

Way to cash in on some supper 64.
