Re: Truck On Pontoon Boat Build!!!!

What i want to do is basicaly do the same thing but different. I want to hook the gas pedal so it goes when i hit the gas pedal. What you could do is rig up a propeller to a engine in the truck. It would take alot of time. Have all the guages where the speedometer is and steer with the steering wheel. AWESOME.i would get a tool box in the back and rig it up as a livewell. Once i get the time and money Im gonna have fun.

If ya change your mind let me know cause I been looking for a truck like that 8) I wouldn’t worry about the coast guard just get it licensed as a truck and let them find a law against running your truck on the waterd:) I would consider the weight distribution as well as the total weight, you may end up buying some fiberglass parts and have to start chopping out floor boards, wheel wells and what ever else you can get rid of to lighten things up. Especially if your considering generators, air conditioners, etc… Ain’t there a Johnny Cash song about building it one piece at a time?

saw a/c unit in bass pro mag, or westmarine. you could also rig a bimini type canvas over the bed of the truck. like a rag top topper.

If you are doing this in Florida, how quickly do you think that the truck will rust out being from salt water...

studlymandingo,

The United States should welcome people with the ingenuity and foresight to be able to build a vehicle such as this. Our forefathers were not all able to buy their way into the US. The people who used their brains instead of their political pull and money are the ones who turned out to be a great asset to this country. The Coast Guard should have escorted them in to make sure they had safe passage and helped them hook up their drive shaft so they had a work truck for a good start into a new life. The people who did this deserved a better life.

Yep, Miami has about 200 custom car shops where they could have gainfully employed with no problem.

I agree with that statement. They at the very least had some skills that are beyond many of the graduates from high schools here in the states. Heck, I could use a couple of those guys, I guarantee they would show up for work every day...with a smile on their faces!
