i'm thinkin' seriously on buyin' a chevy astro minnivan.. the are built on a 'real' frame & can pull things.. i think i want a windowless cargo type rather then a passenger carrier type.. i'd rip out the seats & have no where to store them ,anyway..<br /><br />i fixed up in 78' an old 61 ford econoline 'pick-up' truck .. you know , the 'morphidite' .. van front with a pick-up bed.. the engineer/ designer , may he rot in hell.. an should of been 'bullwhipped ' everyday of his natural life.. had 13 inch tires & a 144 cu in motor .. that rat sob ..<br />anyway, i put on a custom camper cap & a no tailgate camper door.. <br />i even ( my own idea ) saw-salled out the back van window & the front cap window & put in a homemade vinal boot-shell . so to crawl-thru like a real van..an a 5 gallan water can strapped up underneath with a little 12 volt fuel pump & a smart way to fill it.. as long as i can get get a little cleaned up & can wash a pot & pan , brush my teeth,, i'm fine an can do it indifinately.. lived in it for 5 months one time..<br /><br />had the truck 9 years ..took me all 'round the country.. replaced E V E R Y part on the truck at one time or another except the steerin' coloumb.. an that shoulda been done ,too..<br /><br />anyway i'm lookin' to make an ASTRO VAN into a little camper.. <br /><br />i'm in need of catalogs like JC WHITNEY .. except NOT jc whitney..<br /><br />when i was fixin'up the 'morphidite' i ordered an sent a check to JC WHITNEY in 1978.. for the amount of $63 dollars & change.. i never got my order.. what i got was a letter from them claiming bankruptcy.. i never got my money back an they cashed the check way after they sent me the letter.. <br /><br />so you's can see ,,, i won't deal with whitney & they're still in bussness... <br /><br />maybe J C shoulda been 'bullwhipped' ,too. i gotta feelin' where he's ROTTIN' ..!!
