Trying my hand at prop repair

I have a 13x19 chrysler aluminum boat prop. It was given to me by a friend and the bottom of it was badly bent like it struck a log. so i used my oxygen acetylene torch to heat it and used an anvil and ball peen hammer to straighten its. I measured and felt it to match it up. It looks 100% better but idk how sensitive these old props r to exact pitch. It has a big nick outy of it and i planned to weld it with my torch. any advice or tips?

Don't concentrate the heat too long. It will ruin the rubber hub and you will not be able to buy another if it is the 18 spline prop. You will be forced to "pin" it. If it is 15 spline you can still buy hubs.

As far as pitch, the closer the better. As long as you are doing the welding yourself, make a "gauge block" and compare all three blades to each other. Doesn't matter if the pitch is a little off, as long as all three blades are the same.

well i welded it up my torch and aluminum rod. Turned out beautiful! I will upload pics tmw.
