Trying to decipher mariner 40hp model and serial number to find year

40ELT0 6E9 L 501642. Couldn't find the year searching. So far I think I know

40hp
6E9-Yamaha made mariner
L-long shaft
T- maybe trim model, don't know
O- oil

Couldn't find anything on the serial. Any help is appreciated.
