sorry guys i don't have any dealers in my location where i'm rebuilding engine so i got to use the internet to order parts. can someone direct me in the right direction for those dreaded cam seals for a 1983 470 merc s/n 6283569 THANKS
Go to a bearing supply house with the part number on the seal . It should be on the seal somewhere If you cant find the number get the dimensions on the shaft diameter , depth of the seal ,and outside diameter of the seal . They should also have Speedi Sleeves to make a lasting repair . Unless someone chimes in with a Mercury part number , or whereabouts there is a Motion Industry right in your hometown
