The good news is... you're having fun and learning.

The AL 3 blade was flexing under load much more than a SS will. So, the 23P AL acts like a 21 or even a 19 SS when it comes to the RPM you're looking for. Usually a 2" reduction is all you need when going to the SS. Some say you might even reduce the diameter an inch at the same time to help keep the RPM up, and thus keep your speed as well.

Something tells me you will be happy with the new 21P 3B... but it may not perform as well as your perfect AL does.... ~grin~

Well ran the solas 21p 3 blade... ended up going 4650 rpms and 50mph. That was all she had. Felt pretty good on holeshot. I think i like this one. I could trim to the limit and it would never blow out. It would lose grip in turns while part throttle and some trim. But i think the AL would do the same. Anywho, wanted to report back and let you all know how she did.

OP, are all the MPH numbers based on GPS or boat speedo?

I have verified my speedo with gps several times... boat is dead on every time. But this last time i used speedo only.
