hello, name is Todd Oliver. bought a 1988 Bayliner Capri 16ft 85 force(black motor)about 4 months ago.Never owned a boat,so it has been lots of learning. After DVA purchase and lots of work, stator and one ignition module have fixed ,atleast for the moment, the running issues. So, after stator, module, fuel lines, primer bulb, carb gaskets(because one sediment bowl was leaking and everything basically had to come off so they all got new gaskets),spark plugs, water pump kit(aluminum housing and all),lower unit seals and oil. Now, i started to work on the other loose ends bilge pump, trailer bearings, leaking tires etc.... got that done, ready to HIT the water RIGHT,Nope. hooked up muffs and motor starts and runs good, water flowing nicely(via telltail) let run for couple minutes then shut off.directly go to start again just to see howw she fires back up,nothing. lights are on and every thing else works but ignition switch will not do anything. The kicker is i can wait till the next day (after engine cools i suppose)oh yea, new thermo gasket and tested old thermostat works fine actually started opening at approx. 110 degrees and when pulled out at 130 degrees and was pretty much fully open, kicker:the next day or morning the switch will work just fine.no i have not pulled the switch and tested resistance between the proper connections on it and will but thought i might post this first to see if any one can shed maybe some obvious light i am oblivious to being a new boat owner, thanks for any help. seloc online manual purchased also
