trying to identify year of my mercury 9.9 outboard

did not succeed finding information through s/n code.
here are the details:

on the aluminum rounded plate inside the outboard the number is:
9836643
on the outside plate written:
marine power
Europe
B4822 vermers
made in Belgium
CE *5

can any body help based on the info I provided? pictures attached

I just searched the Mercury database by serial number and it returned an invalid serial number error. So you might want to give them a call at talk to their service dept.

It turned out to be a 1996/7 outboard.
