Tube in front of lower unit? 115 hp.

Ok. I took both lower units off. 115hp 91 and 84 years.<br /><br />One(C115 91) has a tube that feeds into hoses going into <br />the boat. What is that? I thought speedo but there is a wheel speedo on the boat.Is it a temp gauge?<br /><br />The other one(1984)has a plastic plug in it.<br /><br />What gives. And both had a wet oil running down them. What would that be from.

That is a speedo line. The wet oil or fuel residue is from the powerhead exhaust and is normal.
