I understand the problem the OP is having, we do alot of tubing and I do know how to drive the boat, lol! I fixed the rope dragging problem by installing higher pulling points on the transom, and getting rid of the heavy tube rope. We only use a one person tube and there was no need for a 4000lb rated rope. I made my own rope from common 3/8 hollow braided nylon rope, it is 75ft long. Before we went to the lighter rope it would dip into the wake and slow the tube down, the lighter rope stays tought and has some give to it so it won't jerk the tube out from under the rider. The way I have it rigged now makes for a fun ride!!

I agree with driver error...pay attention to what the tube does when you make turns.
