Tune up cost

I just got a 96 model Johnson 25hp, elect start. I live south of Houston. I am looking for recommendations of where I should take it for a tune up, carb kit and water pump. It has been sitting for a couple of years and will only run at up to about mid speed.
About how much should I expect to spend for what I have listed?

Thanks,
RW

Re: Tune up cost

I wouldn't ask for a "tune-up" since that leaves you open to be charged for stuff you may not need.
I would suspect for a carb kit and an impeller change your looking between $200-$250 with parts.
If everything is working properly and in good shape then about all else you can do is change the lower unit oil and new spark plugs.

If I were you I would do it myself. All the info you need to do the work is already listed here on iboats (check out the engine FAQ section). There are probably videos on Youtube that can show you how its done. You can buy all the parts here on iboats.
