I have to take the GT150 to have carbs cleaned or rebuilt..its burning WAY to much fuel, and RPM wont go over 4700...feels and sounds like it bogging down under WOT...Is there any other mods I can do without going into the engine to get a lil more performace? IE reeds, jets etc...Im going to take it a local guy thats supposed to be good on the ol school motors...I had it on GPS at 55 and turning 4700..I dont think the old GT really come into power until over 5000?

Thanks
Jimmy

Has it ever given you higher rpms - is this a change from what it was doing before?

Yea, it has turned 6000 when i had jack plate up...but the last few times out, the performance has dropped...Even if I have my motor trimmed up for shallow water and hit the pedal, it will die instead of shooting water...it run fine at idle and up to about 4200, but strains after that...it used to run on up...My cousin has just about the same setup as me, and he used 9gals of fuel compared to my 16..and we went the exact same places running together...it just needs a good ol tune up on it...

Its a 90 model..I will let the shop do all the comp and spark test...if it has to be fixed, rather it be done there..

It only seen 6000 for about 5 secs...usully ran 5300-5400 before the jack plate...CDI box has 5800 on it, but it turned 6 with jack plate way up..it has since been dropped back down..Center of Prop is about 3" below pad..
