Runs great at the pier, great idle, great rev, No wake speeds fine.

No top end, can't escape its own shadow. Won't plane off. No rpms.
The Seloc manual has to many models and is not specfic at all.
Does anybody happen to have a REAL book that says exactly which order you need to set this engine.
Good speed cause my husband is going to drive me insane.
Thanks

Re: Tuning of 155 Evinrude

Are the carbs clean and in sync? Spark on all 6?

Look at the arm that goes from the throttle arm (on starboard side of engine block) and make sure it's connected to the timer base. The timer base should move as the arm moves.

Is this the same motor that reved up and quit? Was it running OK before that? What have we done in the meantime?

good luck!

Re: Tuning of 155 Evinrude

Carbs were clean, Adjusted the cables, over reved it, had starter rebuilt.
We did add some oil into the gas ontop of the VRO. Just in case.
Checked timing on water underway. Up until when we over reved it, we were never getting full rpms. But now its back to being total bog.
We had it up to about 37mph without benefit of full rpms. Now its lucky to attempt take off.
Just can't seem to get a handle on which order to play with the carbs, cables, timing.
Tied to pier revs great, sounds great,Top end rpm is stumping us.
