I just got my turbo hot shot stainless prop the other day and went to install it yesterday and guess what
IT DON'T FIT:devil:
The thrust washer (factory OMC with matching part numbers) does not fit in the back of the prop and I do not me just a little bit short I mean not even going 1/8 inch in at best . It is a 10 1/8 OMC and that is exactly what I have and I have run a Cabelas stainless, a stock OMC and a Michigan 10 1/8 prop with no problems with the same thrust washer.

Has anybody else had the same issue?

I will be on the phone with precesion propeller first thing Monday morning as The place I purchased it from boat owners world told me to take it up with precesion as it fits all standard thrust washers but this prop does not. This is very poor service for somebody that just sold a defective $195.00 prop to somebody.

Re: Turbo prop issue

sounds like they slipped a merc prop in the wrong box...and, the Cabela's prop IS a precision prop with cabela's name on it.

Re: Turbo prop issue

What is funny is the prop looks exactly like a OMC prop as the hub is exactly the same style as my other props just the thrust washer does not fit..

Is the cabela brand of props the same as the turbo hot shots or just a stainless prop made by precesion for Cabelas?

Re: Turbo prop issue

I believe the Cabela's props are Stiletto's...
The only diff in the merc and OMC splines is the length...the merc's are longer and won't go clear on an OMC shaft.
I made a reamer to fit the 15 spline props so I could cut the Merc splined props for use on my Rude...
I haven't made one for the 13's or smaller..I guess I should but I think they may have boxed the wrong prop in your case.
Is there a P/N on the Hub you could post?

Re: Turbo prop issue

Part nunber is O 10 1/8 X 12 R

I called them and get this I was told it will only fit a stock OMC thrust washer. I informed her I have a factory 319890 part # thrust washer and used 3 other brands of props and they all worked fine but this prop it does not fit and then was informed again it will only fit a factory OMC thrust washer :devil::devil: and then was informed they do not make a prop for a 20HP motor but the Hot shot is listed for a 20 -35 HP motor so they or she does not even know there product. She then told me to mail it to them  and they would evalulate the prop for me 195.00 and don't fit right then mail it to them for evulation at my expence wrong not happening call tag on it way.
I was informed it is the right prop in the box as the O in the front of the numbers is for OMC. I have a photo but do not know how to post it. Will e-mail to anybody if they want to post or see it.

Re: Turbo prop issue

What I had to do was buy another prop from precision and have it put on my charge card so I could get a prop back to me for next weeks fishing vacation as I was told it would be about 7 to 10 days before I would get another prop in exchange unless I returned it for a refund I guess.

What kills me is like everybody I talk to from boat owners world and lady at precision seems to beleive I do not know what a stock thrust washer is as I have been told over and over it only fits a stock thrust washer but I have been told there are no aftermarket thrust washers out there for a OMC motor and I have the part number stamped on the side of the washer and informed two different OMC dillers of the number and was told that is a stock OMC thrust washer for a 1989 OMC lower unit and when I go to Ishopmarine and look up a 1989 evinrude thrust washer I get the same number as on my part.

I have to figure out how to get the photo of it posted here.

Re: Turbo prop issue

As you can see I figured it out and the thrust washer is no way even close to fitting in the prop.

Re: Turbo prop issue

What motor do you have? In this thread you say it's an 89 and 319890 is the correct thrust washer. In other threads you say you have a 1991 20. That takes a 335420.

Re: Turbo prop issue

I have a 1991 rude but it must have a 1989 lower unit on it as that is what the thrust washer is from and there is no anoide on the motor like the 1991 above the caviation plate which made me wonder a bit as the 1989 unit has it in a different place . I bought the motor used so I was not sure I assumed :^ it was all 1991 but the lower unit must not be.

It still takes the same size props and thrust washer should all be the same as long as it is through the prop exhust as the years listed is 84 and up or to 95 for my motor for Cabelas props ( just looked there fast).

Re: Turbo prop issue

I got my second prop from Percision today. I paid to hev one drop shipped to me so I would have one to use and thank goodness as the call tag to pick up the defective prop has never shown up yet and it was issued on Tuesday UPS.

Anyway the thrust washer does fit in the prop and both props look exactly the same except the bad one came in a gold box with a huge item number sticker and the new one came in a bright yellow box with a tiny item number sticker. I hope it quits raining so the rivers can go down a bit to semi safe boating conditions to try it.
