Re: Turbo Tax Warning

Update; after just one call to the IRS they confirmed that the refund was for the full amount and that the routing information they received was for guess whom Santa Barbra Bank & Trust. So now it was an Issue solely with Turbo Tax and their management. After several emails with their customer service chain and two phone calls they could not point out the information in Turbo Tax Deluxe software where they could deduct a ?fee? or divert my refund. Finally I was promised the ?oversight? would be corrected. Sure enough a check of my bank account finds that the original deposit was gone and in it?s place was a deposit for the correct full amount. Then I was happy but after giving it further thought (my wife says I have a tendency to over think things) I realize there should have been two deposits. One for the initial reduced amount and then one for the deducted ?fee? amount. Talking with my bank I find out when I supply someone with my bank routing information they can both deposit and withdraw funds from that account. So as of now I will give Tax Cut a try next year. Thank you all for the input.

Re: Turbo Tax Warning

This is so weird. I did TurboTax this year as I always do, eFiled with them, got my big *** refund a couple weeks later with nothing skimmed off the top. I don't even remember seeing any options about getting an immediate refund or something.

Re: Turbo Tax Warning

I used Turbo Tax Deluxe this year. I e-filed my federal return, and chose direct deposit, half to my account and half to my wife's. I filed on Feb 7, and had both deposits, in full, on Feb 17.

I had to do both my state returns (VA and NC) by mail, I did not see anything in the forms about doing direct deposit. So I am waiting for the checks on those.
