Turning motor over, where to put the juice?

Going to compression test the new 4.3 tomorrow. Got a battery, and a long block with starter attached. I don't recall seeing the slave, but assume that it's still on there (?). What's the best way to do this? I'll probably use jumper cables, since I'm not sure what kind of wiring I have available. Thinking I put the jumper (+) to the B terminal, and then a separate wire to the S terminal when I'm ready to crank? That S wire shouldn't carry much current, right?

the S-terminal will pull about 3-5 amps. use 18 gauge or higher.
