Re: TV/DVD for small boat

I bought a 7" Haier on sale for $35 to watch football on. The cool thing about the portable is the built in battery. It doesn't need to rescan for stations when you unplug it or when it runs out of juice.

I do need a better way to mount it. They don't waste a lot of money on that part of the design. I need a more omni directional antenna. The straight one needs a lot of fiddling even though I'm pretty close to the stations. It doesn't work well under a sunny sky. Overcast or less intense sunlight and it works great.

Go on Ebay and search 12 volt TV. I found one that if I remember right was about $200 for a 17" unit. It has a built in DVD player. I bout a wall mount device from a local shop, and the TV is mounted in the v-berth and can swing out into the main cabin. It works great, adn a marine TV antenna and I get 10-12 local channels (alot of religous and spanish, but one or to network stations.
