In the process of replacing battery cables and I realized that the both motors are trying to charge either or both batteries at the same time through the battery switch. Since both alternators are charging or trying to do this in parallel, won't they fool each others alternator in the actual battery voltage/current status and hamper the ability to charge either and/or both batteries properly?

If so, what would be the correct setup for 2 motors and 2 batteries?

rickdb1boat,
I failed to mention that motors are outboards. I take it that I would have to find where the alternator feed ties into the main power lead and run a cable from the engine to the isolator. I was hoping there was a battery switch that would accomplish what I need without having to run new wires. Thanks for the diagram link.
