Two product questions

1) What is a good fixed mount VHF radio for a good price that you recommend? I found some "HORIZON" top rated radios for abuot $150. Never heard of that brand.

2) Any good products to put on tarps to help bead water?

1.) Standard Horizon has been making good VHF radio's for more than 50 years.

2.) For Canvas/Sunbrella use 303.

there are probably better radios but Horizon is a basic reasonably priced radio for recreational boating

Nothing wrong with Standard Horizon radios. I had them for years without a problem-- but prefer icom-- use them now but the are generally higher priced. No matter which you buy make sure to get the connection to your GPS just in case of major emergency.
