tying up to a mooring

I have a Sea Hunt Triton 21ft and this year will be mooring it - this is a first time as I was lucky enough to have a slip my first 2 years.

(this is all new to me BTW)

The local marine store made me a mushroom mooring and they have installed it in the water...

Problem: they did not set me up with a rope from boat to mooring...

I do not have anything on top on the front to tie it onto but there is the large U shaped ring on the front that I normally hook onto when trailering.

If anyone has a 21ft Triton and know what I am talking about can I ask for the best way rope scenario... clasps etcetc

Welcome to iboats GoBig.
Let's get this to the Boat topics and questions, non engine forum.
It will get buried here.
Again, welcome to iboats.

Re: tying up to a mooring

You will want to connect the mooring buoy to the bow eye of your boat. That is if you can reach it relatively easily from inside the boat. You can use a chain/padlock from the mooring bouy, especially if security is an issue. If you cannot reach the bow eye, you will need to use a cleat on the bow. You will then need to use 1/2" nylon line so it won't scratch up the boat.

That U-shaped ring that you tie to is the Bow-eye Chris is referring to. If this is too difficult to reach, you will want to install a cleat on the bow.

the use of a boat hook comes in very handy, to pick up the mooring line off the bouy.
