Type of batteries? Reg, gel, or agm?

I recently purchased a used 18 ft glastron fish and ski. The wiring was a mess, got most of it fixed, mnow nweed to charge the batteries. Ran the boat once before wiring mess discoverd. Every thing was wired ti 1 deep cycle. After fishing couldnt get motor started. ANyway, I cant figure out which type of batteries I have

They are both Duralat

1each 24md-dl deep cycle

2each 27dp-dl

regular, gel or agm, doesnt say on the batteries or on autozones web site..thanks

If they have something that looks like one or two rectangular caps on top which can be removed with a screw drive or such, they are regular lead acid batteries. The 24 appears to be a standard deep cycle group 24 and the other is a group 27 dual purpose. The dual purpose is a half deep cycle half starting battery, well at least that is what the industry wants everyone to believe. An 18footer probably doesn't need a whole buch of cranking amps (not knowing what size engine) so a dual purpose should work. If you want max amps you need a regular starter batt.

So..I should use "Standard on my schumacher marine charger..not agm or gel?

If they are lead acid type (ones which you can add water to) then yes, set it to standard
