Simple quick question. I just replaced all my bellows and gimbal bearing on my alpha 1 gen 2. I installed the U joint bellow on my transom first rather then on the bell housing. I know the manual says to do the bell housing first but to me is was easier to do the transom first.... Am I going to be ok. Retaining ring seemed to go on fine on the bell housing side afterwards, used lots of adhesive :)?

I just did the same thing last night. I assume the directions made mores sense with the older versions that used a clamp on the outside of the bell.

I read the manual and never found step by step for everything. Just individual items. There are 10 steps if you count each end of u joint, shift, and exhaust bellows plus water and lube hoses.

Well happy to say, I took the boat out 3 times and the bilge is remaining dry :). Also no more bearing noise!
