I just want to make sure the part numbers in the sticky at the top of the forum apply to a 280 drive... Just installed my new engine, replaced pds bearings and seals, thought i'd go ahead and replace ujoints before installing transmission.
Thanks

Are the part numbers correct for a 280?
SPICER# 5-1306X
ROCKFORD# K1306
DETROIT# 7260
NEAPCO# 1-6300 / 1-6301
PRECISION (MOOG)# 315G
TRW (FEDERAL MOGUL)# 20030 / 20030P

Re: u joint replacement 280

Thanks don!

New motor won't crank over with the old starter. It just won't spin her fast enough to fire up. The builders said the new engine would be "tight". They weren't wrong!
A new htgr starter will be here in the morning. I hope that'll do it.

A new engine should never be so tight that a normal starter will not turn it over. You have starter problems, but new engine being tight is not a problem.
