I know this topic has been beat to a pulp but I can't help but to ask this simple question in an effort to streamline the maintenance procedure.
Can anyone verify whether my ujoints will have inside or outside keepers prior to removing the drive?
I would love it if I were able to order the ujoints prior to removing the drive rather than removal, then placing order, then waiting for shipping etc.
I hope this doesn't sound like a ridiculous request and doesn't irritate some of the allknowing members whose advice I so humbly request.
Replacement purpose is due to no knowledge of previous owners maintenance records along with two seasons of trim down turn related vibrations either direction. My plan is to replace gimbal bearing, align engine, replace ujoints and bellows and install fresh orings at driveshaft, transom shield, dipstick, vent and drain plugs. I want to do this for peace of mind.
Again I wish to thank all of the marvelous people who so unselfishly offer their knowledge and wisdom.
Respectfully,
Roger:facepalm:
