My buddy just told me this story and I just had to share it with you guys.

He and his buddy went out fishing a couple of days ago and while they were out on the lake, the boat started to collect water. His brother turned to him and said "Dude, I think your boat's sinking?". Surprised, he went to the aft to check his drain plug. It was installed and he figured it just needed to be tightened up. The water was coming in faster than his bilge pump could handle and continued to rise up to their ankles.

He went to the back of the boat again and couldn't figure what the problem was. Puzzled, he thought he had a damaged hull or coming in through the seams of his aluminum boat.

By this time, the water was past their ankles and they started to prepared for the boat to sink. Just then he remembered his aft live well has a drain plug next to the main plug which he forgot to install. Can't say I blame him...He hadn't been out in his boat in a couple of years and simply forgot all the plugs.

Actually, I'm betting he put the plug in the livewell drain instead of the boat drain. Most livewells won't flood the boat if the plug's not in. It's an easy mistake to make, too.

In any case, I'm glad he saved the boat!

Re: Uh...Dude, your boat's sinking!

Saturday I went to an island party, after about ten hours being out there my plug started leaking.

I changed it out for the one that drains under the deck and with the one I use to plug the plastic drum I use for flushing the motor.

Leak, leak, leak, leak.

Not to bad that the pump couldn't keep up but kind of a pain when you have a couple loads of people to ferry back to the mainland.

Did ruin my time alone with a certain someone on the water with a full moon with live music being played on the island.

Swampytonk was great though weather was perfect nice breeze kept the bugs down. Love living in Florida.

]Oh and buying new plugs.

Fast boat to impress chicks - 10 to 20 grand.

Gas to make boat go fast - more than any of us want to pay these days.

Bottle of decent wine to loosen hot babe up - 15 to 20 bucks.

Extra hull plug to prevent loss of "quality time" with now uninhibited hot babe - two and half bucks, but something that I could probably have sold you for a hundred if I had been there! :D
