Uh got a new throttle control

Got a Uflex throttle control how do you put this in? Do you need a new cable also? My wife is being so generous.

You will need a couple of new cables if there isnt an adapter set for the johnnyrude cables to fit Uflex. Great Wife.

Don't have it yet. Will read the instructions that I hope come with it.<br />GDANE I don't have a rude or a johnny. I use the Force LOL.<br />I did order 1 cable but now I need two? Why the heck do they sell only 1?

I'd wait with the cables, I'm not familiar with the Force cables - are they like Mercury ?? If you go to Ultraflex homepage, you will find several different adapterkits for each outboard brand. I dont think you need cables at all if yours are good.

No you don't understand I am rebuilding from the bare hull up. I finaly got some money. And all $5.00 is going to new parts. LOL And it is a project for me and my 10 year old to work on.Also the new control has a nuetral safety switch whereas the old whatever Bayliner installed does not. Basically for now the Force will do, till I upgrade to a Merc or Evinrude. And I want to be ready.<br /><br />The cables in the boat are red and are probably the 33c type which is what I will get but the Uflex zero friction type. Not sold on iboats. They have the Teleflex cable systems. I did not see the ones I wanted.<br /><br />UFlex is vague on the Force chrysler but talk about generic hookup. I hope so.<br /><br />Besides I don't like red cables I wanted blue. <br />Now from the information gathered I need 2. I wonder if I can get a telefex cable and use that.

Read the instructions about 10 times still not understanding it all but I got the control together and it works I will have to wait a bit befor installing as I still need to add the side panels to the boat. I dont want the control messed up before I get everything installed.<br />If I read it correctly the cables will be easy to attach. I guess for now I can reuse the old cable so I don't have to mess with the engine side.<br />Will keep you all updated as to how its going.
