Re: Ulrichsen Alure 25 Flybridge

loved to read the post. I just purchases a 1969 Ulrichsen 28 back in sept for a unbelievable price that just could not of passed up. I am upgrading to use as a Auxiliary Facility and have been very impressed with the boat for it's age. If I had to complain about anything on the boat at this point is NO fuel guage (but from this post i noticed a tank top mounted one in the pictures so i have to go crawl into the engine room and see if that too is my case. a few pictures are attached.

351 winsor with v drive

Would have guessed 360. Is it sporting the obsolete paragon reverse gear and V-drive?

Hey another Luhrs owner! Not to keep the thread hijack going, but cgaux if you post some photos of your transmission sqbtr or myself can probably tell you if it's a Paragon. That's what I have in my Luhrs. Why don't you start a new thread about your project?

cgaux: I've never seen a setup like that. The tranny doesn't look anything like my Paragon. I'm sorry but I can't identify it.

Haven't been doing much lately, looks like the weather will break soon. I built a sump for the step drain

The bottom has a recess for the pump, the pump will be controlled by a delay relay off the float switch.

A boat I have been looking at for a couple of years finally came within reach today. I'm ofically a tinny owner

It's a 1977 Starcraft, Something. It's '16, Mercury 500 powered. It's pretty much the same boat as a late '60's Mariner V.

I know I won't be pulling in all the chicks with this thing, but, a Deck, transom and wiring and I have something to take in the skinny water and be easy to tow long distances.

Check out the moss growing on the deck

Hey Wayne, Got some news you may be interested in.Found my previous owner,he called me & informed me that the boat ( same boat you have sans nameplate ) runs 30 to 35 in small chop to 2-3 ft waves, and consumes about 10 gal. an hour with 3-4 people.Oh yeah, thats @ 4000-4200 rpm. Thought you might want to know that. Our boats are almost identical,318 1.5 reduction,'bout 6000 lbs & I was dang glad to hear it,as I havn't had mine wet either.Prop on mine seems to be 16 x 15 or 16 x 16,but its pretty mangeled.I was amazed that big heavy thing could do that but he was straight-up with me & told me when I finish it to let him know , he may want it back one day.
