ultra-sonic carb cleaning

One question, is ultra-sonic (or sound) carb cleaning necessary? Boat shop want's 85 bucks per carb to do so, x 3 is big money for me. I'm sure it's very good and affective, but blame, 85 bucks apeice? Is anything wrong with imersion in carb cleaner and blowing them out with air?

The carb soaks destroy any rubber and some plastics.
I use Wall'ys carb cleaner and then as soon as it's clean,I spray with WD or any silicone spray.
The carb cleaner and the soak can destroy the rubber in the needle/seat.
The kits( FK10125)have welch plugs.Top of the carb.They sometimes clog up.
Easy to replace.

To funny jerryjerry. I'm waiting for, and I have been all week, on carb parts, so the boat has sat all week. Soon as they come in I'll get back to work on her. I'll let you guys know if my cleaning has helped the misfire issue I've been having. I love you guys, have a good day.

I read a fantastic book a few years back by Alan Norwood, syndicated writer for over one hundred and thirty newspapers around the country. The title of the book was " I love old dogs, children, and old boats." Keeps me inspired to fix our boat. I figure God had a reason for keeping me off the water this spring, but I'll get back out there, hopefully sooner rather than later. I'm just thinking, Striper season isn't that far off, December is just a few months away. Thanks jerry, for the smile this morning.
